How AbroadMate works
The clearest way to understand the platform is to follow one student message all the way through it.
The journey of one message
A student messages you
They send a message on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, your website chat widget, or as a comment on one of your Facebook posts. AbroadMate receives it the moment it arrives, regardless of the time of day.The AI understands and replies
The assistant reads the message in whatever language it is written — English, Bangla, or Bangla typed in English letters — and answers using your agency’s own knowledge: your programmes, partner universities, intakes, fees and process. If several messages arrive in quick succession, it waits a moment and answers them together so the reply feels natural.The conversation is qualified
As the student shares what they want — country, course, budget, timeline, English test scores — the AI builds a picture of how ready they are and labels them hot, warm or cold. See Lead qualification.A student record is created
The qualified student appears in your Leads list with their contact details, their stage in the pipeline, their assigned counsellor and the full chat history attached.Your team takes over when it matters

It gets better over time
Every conversation teaches the platform something. When a student asks a question the AI could not answer well, it is logged as a knowledge gap for you to review. When you provide the answer, the assistant remembers it. The Performance screen also proposes small improvements to how your agent behaves, which you approve or dismiss.
You are always in charge
- You can turn the AI off entirely, or only for certain hours — see AI Control.
- You can jump into any conversation and type replies yourself.
- You can pause the AI for a single student without affecting anyone else.
- Nothing is sent to a student that your configuration did not allow.
